I was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina, and began my career in the construction industry, working my way up from laborer and truck driver to sales and project management. While construction was my primary work for decades, I began preparing taxes part-time in 1989 to supplement my seasonal income.
In 2013, while living in Maine, I returned to college at age 57 and earned my accounting degree. I became an Enrolled Agent in 2020, retired from construction, and shifted my focus to tax preparation and planning — turning my long-time side business into my primary career.
In 2024, I joined forces with my business partner, Elspeth Campbell, to form Decisive Tax Services. Together, we focus on each client’s complete tax picture — not just year-end returns — providing personalized strategies and guidance.
My philosophy, shaped by years in sales and relationship-building, is simple: treat every client as an individual, with attention, respect, and a plan that fits their unique situation.

Born in England and raised in Lafayette, California, I earned my degree from UCLA before building a diverse career in construction management and hazardous materials remediation. When the pandemic shifted the world, I followed my interest in tax work, becoming an Enrolled Agent in 2020. I launched my own consulting business in 2022 and co-founded Decisive Tax Services in 2024.
As an Enrolled Agent, I’m enrolled to represent clients before the IRS and prepare taxes. I also offer tax planning, bookkeeping, and management consulting to support clients year-round. My approach is detail-driven, organized, and focused on making the process clear and efficient. Nothing is more rewarding than giving clients the confidence and peace of mind that comes from knowing their finances are in good hands.
